A commercial grinder can quickly reduce a stump to below-ground level, leaving only a smooth, bare surface that’s easy to mow and walk on. The cost of stump grinding varies by location, with metropolitan areas charging more than rural ones due to higher insurance and permit fees.
The City may grind right-of-way stumps, or those within the street, sidewalk, utility, traffic light and snow storage areas. Ornamental plantings, rocks or bricks are not allowed in the City’s right-of-way. It is recommended that you contact the City before removing or having any other contractor remove your stump to ensure that it is located in the correct area and that no services such as water, sewer or drainage are affected.
